Shelly learned to sew when she was four years old, she has been teaching quilting classes for more than thirty years.
She is an author, pattern designer, teacher and lecturer who loves to travel. Her work has been exhibited in quilt competitions, art exhibits and invitational shows across the United States, Europe and Japan.
Known for her relaxed but highly informative teaching style; she was nominated for the 2004 Quilting Teacher of the year award sponsored by Professional Quilter Magazine.
Shelly is a member of the Nebraska State Quilt Guild Hall of Fame.
Her quilts are on permanent display at the University of Nebraska and the Nebraska governor’s mansion along with numerous private collections.
