Flavin is a quilt designer, national teacher and author, with a degree in Clothing, Textiles & Related Arts from Auburn University. Innovative Log Cabin and geometric patchwork quilts, composed of many fabrics in vibrant colors, have become her trademark for the past 30 years. Her patchwork classes and presentations cater to varied skill levels. Flavin’s Log Cabin Landscape & Buildings quilts are featured in her book, A New Look at Log Cabin Quits by C&T Publishing. Her quilt Row Houses was selected one of the 100 Best American Quilts of the 20th Century. She has been featured on HGTV’s Simply Quilts.
Flavin’s interest in early 20th century quiltmakers has prompted addressing her own quilting heritage and influences of the women in her family and the quilts they made. She has served on the Board of the American Quilt Study Group and on the International Quilt Association Board. Visit Flavin’s Website.
