Leni Wiener
Home: New York City, New York, USA
Leni Levenson Wiener is an art quilter, author and instructor living just outside New York City. Her work, which has been exhibited across the US and internationally, can best be described as fabric collage. Photo-realistic in nature, her themes focus mainly on the faces and body language of people caught in ordinary moments of their everyday lives.
“As a former commercial photographer, I still see the world through a camera lens. I am drawn to subjects that are photographic in nature–I like to capture a fleeting moment in the life of a stranger. I often depict an insignificant moment, but one that causes the viewer to look closely, to fill in the story, and in that way to be drawn deeper into the work.” All of Leni’s pieces begin with a photo or a combination of photos which are translated into commercially available fabric.
Leni has authored four books; Thread Painting (2007), Photo-inspired Art Quilts (2009), 3-Fabric Quilts (2011) and Pictorial Art Quilt Guidebook, which will be released in the spring of 2014.
Leni’s workshops cover color, value and print scale; how to choose the right fabrics for your art quilt; making a pattern from a photo; and then the steps required to learn her easy technique. She also gives talks on her process with an overview of her work and on finding your artistic voice. Workshops can be customized to fit the specific needs of the guild or group.

Pat Harrison
Home: Exeter, Rhode Island, USA
Pat Harrison is a National Quilting Association Certified Master Judge, teacher, author, lecturer, designer, and award-winning longarm quilter.
A retired school librarian and teacher, Pat has been longarm quilting since 1999. She has won numerous awards for her quilts at local, regional and international shows including Paducah and Houston.
Pat enjoys all aspects of quilting, especially all those little gadgets and tips that make quilting more successful and fun. She also enjoys designing quilts using EQ7 for herself and quilting magazine.

Barbara Cline
Home: Shenandoah Valley, Virginia
Barbara Cline started creating quilts in her teens. Her first one was a design she made up, with fabrics pieced together to create a woven look. Since then, she has had over 30 years of experience in quilting, teaching classes at a local sewing shop, and creating beautiful quilts and patterns. She also travels teaching to quilt guilds and quilt shows.
Barbara worked at The Clothes Line (now called Patchwork Plus) from 5th grade until she got married and had children. After she stopped working at the fabric store, she was a stay-at-home mother; piecing quilt tops to sell when she had the time. When her last child entered kindergarten, she started working part-time again at The Clothes Line.
Barbara is a national teacher and lecture. She currently teaches classes at Patchwork Plus and loves to design and piece wall hangings and quilts from her home in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.

Joanie Zeier Poole

Specialty: Heirloom Machine Quilting
Joanie Zeier Poole, is an award-winning quilt maker, teacher, pattern designer and author. Over the past ten years, she has taught thousands of students to use their sewing machine to join fabric layers into quilts. She recognizes that magic can happen in the classroom because it happened to her! As a student of master domestic machine quilter Diane Gaudyski, Joanie elevated her skill to a level that she taught alongside her mentor at the Harriet Hargrave Machine Quilting Celebration. She now teaches at major quilt shows and at numerous guilds and shops across the country.
This inspiring entrepreneur uses heirloom machine quilting techniques to create quilts that have earned many Best Machine Quilting awards at national competitions. Joanie began the new millennium by returning to school and earned a degree in Graphic design. Through her company, Heirloom Quilting Designs.com, she uses her computer skills to create a line of original and uniquely elegant Quilting Design Collections, is producing a Quilting for Life DVD series, and to date, has authored and illustrated four books sharing her expertise in machine quilting.
Joanie’s workshops target quilters of any skill level. In her hands-on, follow the line free-motion and hand guided background fill pattern workshops, students experience comfort in knowing that classes are never based on prior knowledge or skill. A PowerPoint presentation introduces each topic, illustrated with step-by-step photos of the essential concepts. Time is then allowed to practice these procedures before putting them into action on the original project specifically designed for the targeted skills. Joanie’s Choosing, Using and Adapting Quilting Design class encourages and enables students to add their own unique personality to the function of holding the layers of their quilts together.

Lee Heinrich

Co-Author of “Vintage Quilt Revival:22 Modern Designs from Classic Blocks (available December 2013); contributor to “Modern Quilts from The Blogging Universe”
Lee specializes in modern quilting and the “traditional-made-modern” movement. Her Lifesavers quilt took first place in the “Modern Traditionalism – Small Quilts” category at Quilt Con (the first ever national modern quilt show) in February 2013. Her quilts have also been published in Quilt Magazine, Quiltmaker, Fons and Porter’s Easy Quilts, Fat Quarterly e-zine, the Moda Bake Shop, and others. Lee’s blog has more than 3,000 subscribers and generates about 75,000 page views per month.

Linda Wagner
Home: Suisun City, California
Linda teaches like she would like to be taught. Students receive extensive notes and can reference large charts. All students receive individual help. In classes with demos, demos are repeated multiple times so each student has opportunity to grow comfortable with the technique. There are always extra quilts shown only in the workshop. Jennifer Houlden
Home: Barrie, Ontario, Canada
I have been quilting for just over ten years and it all started back in 2002 in Yellowknife, NWT. While living in Yellowknife I was very lucky to be able to take many classes from local instructors as well as from instructors the guild brought in from all over Canada and the USA. With a couple of trips to Quilt Canada and some amazing classes I was addicted to the art of quilting.
I began my designing career in Australia when we lived in the Outback. In 2010 I took several on-line classes with Ruth Blanchett, owner of Arbee Designs. My relationship with Arbee Designs developed from this and I have been designing quilt patterns for Ruth ever since. As well as designing for Arbee I also teach at The Academy of Quilting for them. While in Australia I developed my own label, Quilts by Jen.
