Bev Remillard

Home: Laguna Hills, California

A little about me…
Loving romance and all it entails naturally leads me to pretty, tasteful and romantic fabrics. I’m inspired to design patterns and quilts with the same charm and grace as the fabric designer. I love colors of all hues and floral prints are my favorite but once in a while I break out of my box and play with brights and batiks.

Lecturing and teaching workshops is all joy to me. I love spending time with other quilters and sharing our quilting passion. Making quilts and designing patterns over the past 18 years I have been able to produce quilts of varying ability and challenges. I truly enjoy teaching and watching other quilters explore color, patterns and design and consider myself blessed to see their finished beauty.

Like most quilters, I’m usually working on about 5-10 projects which teaches me as well…Thank you for considering me. Please take a look at my website Ladylike Designs and contact me at bevquiltlady @ aol.com to come teach for you!

Kathie Beltz

August 1, 2016 by Rita

Home: Greenfield, New Hampshire

I am totally addicted to quilting, and enjoy associating with other quilters who are equally addicted.  I’ve been quilting since 1995, teaching since 2004, and judging quilts since 2007.  My specialty is precision machine piecing, and I’m always trying new techniques, gadgets, and patterns.

I have been fortunate that some of my quilts have won awards at almost two dozen shows across the country, including Indiana Heritage Quilt Show, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival, MQX Quilt Festivals, National Quilting Association, Quiltweek Lancaster, Quiltweek Paducah, Road to California, Vermont Quilt Festival, and World Quilt Show – New England.  My quilts have been juried into the AQS show in Paducah in multiple years, winning ribbons in 2015 and 2017.  My FreeFall quilt was juried into the International Quilt Festival in Houston.

As an award-winning quilter, I lecture, give demonstrations, and teach workshops at guilds, quilt shops, and quilt shows nationally.  I especially enjoy teaching beginners.

In 2013, I was trained by Deb Tucker to teach her techniques, patterns, and tools from Studio 180 Design.

In 2017, I launched Kathie Beltz Quilt Designs, my own line of quilt patterns. These patterns are for smaller projects that look complicated but are easier to make than you may think.

I also have extensive quilt judging experience.  My judging philosophy is to acknowledge excellence in quilting, and to educate and encourage quilters of all skill levels.  I like to consider my judging work as an extension of my teaching, guiding quilters to improve their skills through constructive comments.

I recently became a Member of the Board of Directors of the New England Quilt Museum.  There’s a lot going on, and it’s keeping me busy!

For more information on workshops, lectures, or judging, I can be emailed at [Kathie] @ KathieBeltz.com (remove brackets and spaces).

Joanie Zeier Poole

September 14, 2013 by Rita

JoanieZ-P2Home: Madison, Wisconsin
Specialty: Heirloom Machine Quilting

Joanie Zeier Poole, is an award-winning quilt maker, teacher, pattern designer and author. Over the past ten years, she has taught thousands of students to use their sewing machine to join fabric layers into quilts. She recognizes that magic can happen in the classroom because it happened to her! As a student of master domestic machine quilter Diane Gaudyski, Joanie elevated her skill to a level that she taught alongside her mentor at the Harriet Hargrave Machine Quilting Celebration. She now teaches at major quilt shows and at numerous guilds and shops across the country.

This inspiring entrepreneur uses heirloom machine quilting techniques to create quilts that have earned many Best Machine Quilting awards at national competitions. Joanie began the new millennium by returning to school and earned a degree in Graphic design. Through her company, Heirloom Quilting Designs.com, she uses her computer skills to create a line of original and uniquely elegant Quilting Design Collections, is producing a Quilting for Life DVD series, and to date, has authored and illustrated four books sharing her expertise in machine quilting.

Joanie’s workshops target quilters of any skill level. In her hands-on, follow the line free-motion and hand guided background fill pattern workshops, students experience comfort in knowing that classes are never based on prior knowledge or skill. A PowerPoint presentation introduces each topic, illustrated with step-by-step photos of the essential concepts. Time is then allowed to practice these procedures before putting them into action on the original project specifically designed for the targeted skills. Joanie’s Choosing, Using and Adapting Quilting Design class encourages and enables students to add their own unique personality to the function of holding the layers of their quilts together.

Contact Joanie to schedule workshops and lectures targeted to the needs of your group at Joanie@heirloomquiltingdesigns.com.
